Solomon

Overview

Identity

Solomon moves chess pieces through the fight, cutting off routes and damaging enemies who stay in their paths. His bishops threaten diagonal squares, his rooks immobilize enemies, and his queen attacks a wider area. Kingside Knight protects a teammate and lets him move them into position or back to safety.

Abilities

Use Move Piece to select a deployed bishop, your queen, or a hero protected by Kingside Knight, then choose a destination and complete the move. Each target has its own movement cooldown. Check where it will land before moving it.

1. Setup Bishop

12 second cooldown

Place a bishop and use Move Piece to send it through enemies, dealing Spirit damage and applying a fading slow. After a delay, diagonal squares damage enemies who step on them. Reactivate Setup Bishop to recall your bishops.

First upgrade
+5m move distance and +15 percentage points of fading slow.
Second upgrade
Deploy one additional bishop by recasting within 8 seconds.
Third upgrade · 5 points
+1 square of range. Damaging squares reduce Spirit resistance by 2.5 percentage points per stack, up to 10 stacks.

How to use. Aim the bishop through an enemy and check where its diagonal squares will appear. With two bishops, cover different routes. Keep shooting from cover while each bishop waits to move again.

2. Kingside Knight

25 second cooldown

Give an ally a combat barrier and bonus stamina. Self-casting gives Solomon twice the barrier but no stamina. Move the protected hero with Move Piece; they are invulnerable until they land.

First upgrade
-8 seconds cooldown.
Second upgrade
+80 barrier and +1 ally stamina. Self-casting still doubles the barrier and grants no stamina.
Third upgrade · 5 points
Can target two nearby allies. After moving himself, Solomon removes debuffs from himself.

How to use. Protect your ally before the damage arrives, then move them somewhere they can fight or escape. Check with a teammate before moving them out of a useful position. The barrier does not restore health, and the move's invulnerability ends when they land.

3. Rook Battery

33 second cooldown

Send two rooks forward to deal Spirit damage and immobilize enemies. A rook reverses direction when it hits a wall. Reactivate Rook Battery to split the rooks sideways.

First upgrade
Hits reduce fire rate by 25% for 5 seconds.
Second upgrade
Hits add damage equal to 5% of the enemy's current health.
Third upgrade · 5 points
+1 wall reversal, -12 seconds cooldown and +0.5 seconds immobilize.

How to use. Aim along an enemy's escape route, then split the rooks if that will catch them. Follow a hit with bishop damage and gunfire. An immobilized enemy can still shoot and cast; this does not interrupt a channel.

4. Develop Queen

210 second cooldown

Summon a queen that damages enemies where it lands, then sends out damaging squares in straight lines. Use Move Piece to move it and repeat the attack. The ability can stun enemies. Reactivate Develop Queen to recall it early.

First upgrade
-40 seconds cooldown.
Second upgrade
+15 percentage points slow. Executes heroes below its health threshold.
Third upgrade · 5 points
+2 additional moves and +1 square of range.

How to use. Place the queen where your team is fighting or where enemies must pass. Move it toward their next escape route instead of attacking somewhere they have already left. Stay near cover while directing it.
